Utilizing the Nursing Process, coordinates and implements care of patients on the mental health units of the hospital under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Lead Nurse. Performs work of considerable difficulty, according to the scope and standards of psychiatric-mental health nursing. Represents nursing within Trinity Medical Center and works to improve the health of the communities we serve.
Demonstrates competence in the skills, (critical thinking, interpersonal, and technical necessary to carry out assigned duties as identified below. Demonstrated competence in recognizing and responding to patients physical, mental, emotional and developmental needs should be evaluated in relation to the patient populations served as appropriate for each responsibility.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Must be a graduate of accredited School of Nursing.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS: The following is required:
Knowledge of the nursing care required for patients throughout the age continuum;
Ability to use the nursing process;
Knowledge of teaching/learning theories;
Ability to critically think, problem solve; plan, organize, and coordinate patient care activities;
Ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing .
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS: Current Registered Professional Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois. Must maintain current CPR Certification. CPIM certification scheduled within 6 months of employment and maintained annually thereafter.
