Title: Part-Time Student - Communication - John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline, IL - 40000

Your Responsibilities

  • Plan, edit, and manage publications or other communication products at the Business Unit or Division level. Primarily, you’ll be working on a weekly newsletter for employees and updating our digital signs.

  • Provides communications support to departments, groups, and managers to assist in identifying communication needs and messages, and to develop appropriate communication plans that support the Enterprise, Business Unit, and Department objectives.

  • Could also have the opportunity to help with factory tours.

What It Takes

  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office plus intranet and internet functions

  • Understanding of communication theories, especially employee/internal communications

  • Knowledge of the communication planning process and measurement techniques

  • Understanding of photography and photo editing

  • Knowledge of layout/design for both print publications and online

  • Pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing field

  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local university

  • Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis

  • Graduation date of December 2019 or later

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above

  • 16 - 20 hours/week during the academic year

  • 35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester

A strong candidate will also have

  • Writing skills

  • Video editing knowledge
