The student nurse intern is part of the MMC-C healthcare team and is under the direct supervision of a registered professional nurse assisting in the delivery of holistic, compassionate, individualized, effective quality patient care and customer satisfaction. This is accomplished by supporting the patient in activities of daily living, as well as other physical, emotional and spiritual needs consistent with the mission of MMC-C, Patient Care Services vision, evidence-based standards of care and established policies and procedures.

In order to qualify for Mercy's Student Nurse Internship Program, nursing students must meet all of the following criteria:
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Completion of the junior year of a Baccalaureate Nursing Program and be considered in good standing with the university or college
Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in acute care
Anticipated graduation within one year after completion of the summer internship program
A 3.0 grade point average, up to this point
Pass Mercy Medical Center's pre-employment process of a background check, reference check, and immunization requirements.
Will need two letters of recommendation, one of which is from a clinical instructor
Provide a current college transcript to prove classes attended.
